Introduction to Current Procedure Terminology (CPT©), surgery guidelines, Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) and Modifiers used to report health care services performed by health care providers and surgeons in the United States.
Introduction of the integumentary system (skin, hair, nails, sebaceous and sweat glands and nerves). Review how muscles and bones work together to form the frame work of the body; musculoskeletal system.
Discuss CPT©, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding for the respiratory system, the hemic and lymphatic systems, and the mediastinum and diaphragm.
Review the major function of the digestive system and the anatomy associated with key procedures and learn to assign appropriate CPT surgery codes.
Week 10, Chapter 12: Urinary System and Male Genital System; Chapter 13: Reproductive Systems, Female Genital System, and Maternity
Explore the anatomy and function of the Urinary and Mail Genital System; kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Discuss CPT©, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS level II coding for the female reproductive system.
Learn CPT©, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding for the Endocrine and Nervous systems.
Review how the Eye and Ocular Adnexa and auditory systems work together to serve our senses.
Review coding guidelines for anesthesia services and the radiology branch of medicine.
